Time and time again, everyone I am close to tell me NOT to eat at McDonalds whenever I travel. It’s such a travesty, they say. I could not agree more hahaha BUT… Sometimes, I just can’t help myself. Its my go-to place when I am out of the country and too tired to find something to eat. Besides, in most cities I’ve been to, there has always been a McDonalds 🙂
But to be fair to myself, I made sure I ordered something that was distinctly French.
Le Casse Croute – Polet Poivre: It was a breaded chicken sandwich with a pepper sauce in a baguette. It was really really DELICIOUS! I loved the bread. It was crusty but not too tough. And the chicken reminded me of the patty of a McChicken. It also had breaded potatoes in it.
Croque McDo (yes, they called it McDo! And all along I thought the very term McDo was Filipino haha): A Croque Monsieur; a ham and cheese (emmental) sandwich. Since I was so full from my sandwich and fries, I only had a couple of bites. I made a mistake and thought that croque was like a croquette hahaha yes, lost in translation 🙂
Even if this was just McDonalds, I did not regret my meal one bit. In fact the Le Casse Croute was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had (I know not everyone will agree with me on this but to each his own) Now I’m craving. Arrrrgh.
