RAMENiscing: Ramen Ichiban-kan
JodiesDaddy and I chanced upon Ramen Ichiban-kan along Mabini St. in Manila last week. Our intention was to go to the Manila branch of Ukkokei Ramen Ron, but we were disappointed to discover that they were closed for the holiday. Since we are not really familiar with the area, we did not know where to have lunch! Luckily, JodiesDaddy saw Ramen Ichiban-kan across the street.
I was first apprehensive. But was urged by JodiesDaddy to try it out and I succumbed.
JodiesDaddy and I both had: Spicy Miso Ramen. The broth was pretty good and definitely had a kick to it. We both just didn’t like the consistency of the noodles.
Jodie had: her usual chahan
Our overall experience in Ramen Ichiban-kan was not too bad, but not the best either: Service was lousy (server never smiled and seemed lazy), restaurant interiors were nothing fancy and seemed old and rundown (at least it was clean :D) but at least it satisfied our ramen craving 🙂
