RAMENiscing: Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen

Are you tired of my ramen posts yet?! I hope not! Because as long as the Ramen Craze is here with new ramen places popping up – and there are still a lot we have not tried – my posts on ramen will keep on coming. It’s JodiesDaddy’s current favorite food —- shabu shabu please step aside ;D

Last week we tried out Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen in the newest wing of Shangri-La Plaza. One of my friends didn’t really like it when he ate here, but we thought, what the heck… Might as well give it a shot.

We shared: Potato Croquette. I was the only one that liked this. It was on the sweet side.

JodiesDaddy had: Spicy Tobanjan Tonkotsu – Ramen with spicy Tobanjan paste, resulting in absolutely appetizing and wholesome flavour

I had: Ajitama Tonkotsu – Topped with a special half-boiled egg that is fully marinated with a special blended soy sauce base

Surprisingly (since we were not expecting much), we both really loved our ramen. We cleaned our bowls down to the last drop. We liked the flavors. Another thing we also liked about Ikkoryu was that they give you an option for noodles: hard (firm), soft or regular. We both chose firm noodles.. Somewhat like instant noodles.

At P380/bowl, it was on the pricey side (especially since we thought the serving size was smaller than our favorite Ukkokei) but worth it.
