Have you tried Kulawong Talong?! You should! This is a Filipino dish that I was able to try only at Sulyap in San Pablo, Laguna.
So what is it? An original recipe of San Pablo City, grilled Eggplant in smoked flavor coconut milk, cooked in fire brick stove topped with sliced grilled pork belly (description from the menu).
It was something new to me, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I think you will too.
Side Note: Sulyap is this very pretty Bed and Breakfast, museum in San Pablo, Laguna. And they have a good restaurant to boot! Think Sonya’s Garden with a Filipino theme! The first time I went to Sulyap was last Christmas, but I don’t think I was able to blog about it.
