Going local at Locavore

I’ve read so much about Locavore.  I’ve heard a lot about Locavore.  I’ve been wanting to go back to Locavore.  So why haven’t I?  Well, simply because JodiesDaddy does not like to spend on Filipino food.  He says we can always cook it at home 😉

So after craving for sooooo long (which was heightened when they opened a branch in BGC), I finally found the perfect opportunity to eat at Locavore again.  It was when JodiesDaddy had to work over the weekend while Jodie and I were stuck at home.  And he didn’t mind that we went there without him.  I was also able to drag JodiesNinang to join us which enabled us to order more food!  Yum!

We started with this Street Food Sampler.  It had classic fish and squid balls, qwek qwek and kikiam served  with 3 dipping sauces unique to this Pinoy street food.

This was followed by Lechon & Oyster Sisig.  I’ve been dreaming of this for so long.  Crispy pork and deep fried oysters doused in a unique sisig gravy.  Very rich.  Very good.

For our main dishes, we ordered one their best-sellers, Sizzling Sinigang and a chicken dish, Mac’s Fried Chicken.

The Sizzling Sinigang was the bomb!  Locavore’s is dry version of the classic Filipino favorite which had no Kangkong.  Instead it was served with French Beans, with again, another malinamnam (rich) gravy that had all the Sinigang flavor.  Super loved this dish!

Lastly, Mac’s Fried Chicken.  I ordered this mainly for Jodie (since she doesn’t eat Sinigang).  She said it was good and tasted like Bon Chon haha

Locavore did not fail.  It was as good as all the reviews and as I remembered it to be.  It’s Filipino food made more rich and flavorful.  It’s absolutely yummy!

      Go! They have in BGC.. But they’re always full 😦 some people find the food a bit too malinamnam though.
