A family that cooks together, eats together

There are some days when we, JodiesFamily, are too lazy to brave traffic or move our lazy butts off our beds to eat something special, we decide to make the something special at home instead.  While in reality, these meals are only either Shabu-shabu, Japanese (sukiyaki, chahan) or Korean (Korean BBQ, bibimbap), Cheese Fondue or steak there  is always this sense of accomplishment of eating a good home-cooked meal.

Last Saturday was one of those days and this is what we prepared:

  • Sweet potato and carrot mash – Jodie helped me with this.  She mashed the sweet potatoes (I did the carrots) and she seasoned was the one that seasoned it with salt and pepper.
  •  Steak fried rice – I had left over angus salpicao which I chopped up and mixed with some frozen veggies and cooked with butter and seasoned with Worcester sauce.
  • Steak – JodiesDaddy took charge (as always) of pan-searing the steak which was only seasoned with salt and pepper and basted with butter.  It was sooooooo good!

Honestly, I wish every weekend were like this. Not only does it save us money to cook our own food, but it is a great way to bond as a family.

    The bf likes to complain about how I ruin the steak lol (it always ends up TOO well done = sunog hahaha)

      Hahahaha sabi nga ng husband ko, over cooked steak is Tapa! Haha
