Jodie surprised me one day when she announced that she wanted to eat ITALIAN pizza. She kept on stressing Italian so I kind of assumed she was craving something other than the usual Shakey’s. It didn’t take me too long to suggest Motorino which had opened a 2nd branch in BGC and which kept on appearing in my Instagram feed earlier that week. I was honestly pretty excited to try out something new.
I gave Jodie free rein to choose whatever pizza she wanted. After explaining the choices to her, she selected the Pizza Al Uovo which had mozzarella, pecorino, basil, eggs, bacon and olive oil.
To be honest, it wasn’t an exceptional pizza, but it was still delicious. I think I would have loved it more if the eggs were more runny and if the bacon was more bacon-y. The next time I’m there, I think I will skip this and try their Prosciutto Di Parma which I heard was really good.
If Jodie chose the pizza, JodiesDaddy picked our pasta and I wasn’t surprised when he ordered the Clams and Bacon, which is his (hands down) ultimate favorite pasta dish.
We all loved this and it was the pasta that won us over. I don’t know if they made the pasta themselves, but the menu did state that it was fresh pasta. It was really, really very nice. My first time to realize how fresh pasta makes all the difference.
This was all we had, and I’m pleased to report that it was enough for the 3 of us. So not only were we able to satisfy Jodie’s Italian Pizza craving, we were also able to keep within our budget by not ordering too much.
All in all, I was very happy with our Motorino lunch – the food and the ambiance were outstanding. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.
