Hanamaruken.  It’s been around and JodiesDaddy has been reading his friends rave about their Signature Happiness Ramen.  So we tried it out ourselves.

JodiesDaddy had the Signature Happiness Ramen (no photo).  He liked the broth.  It was light, not too rich and yet full of flavor.  He was overwhelmed by the pork rib that came with it.

Jodie had the Salary Man Ramen.  It had the same broth.  She loved it, so did I.

Unlike other Ramen places, Hanamaruken offered rice bowls!  That was definitely a treat. I tried out the Drunk Man Rice bowl.  And to me there’s nothing more comforting than a good ol’ rice bowl.

It turned out to be happiness in a bowl.  The rice was topped with braised pork, 2 fried eggs (cooked how I like my fried eggs) and chilis.  I got a wee bit intimidated by the chilis and removed them before mixing it all in.  Everything blended and tasted really well.

Hanamaruken is not located near where we live.  That being said and because of Manila’s horrendous traffic,  while we had a really pleasant meal, I don’t see ourselves going out of our way to eat here again.  It lacked that overall ooomphh.
