My mom’s 5th sibling (they are a family of 11 siblings!) Tita Sylvia, visited from the US a few weeks ago. Her schedule was packed with activities including an advance 60th birthday lunch at Caruso Ristorante Italiano — a restaurant I haven’t been to in almost a decade (must have been more than a decade because Jodie was not even born yet nor was I married yet). I remember loving the food in Caruso, and being able to taste it again, did not disappoint.
A few of the dishes we had were:
- Deep Fried Calamari and Shrimp,
- Marghareta Pizza,
- Caruso Pizza (my favorite),
- Tuna seared in butter,
There were about 3 more other dishes which were all equally delicious (a salad, a chicken dish and another pizza). Caruso Ristorante Italiano is on the pricey side but I feel you get your money’s worth in terms of ambiance and I guess Italian authenticity since it does not have a commercial feel to it. It definitely is ranked as one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Metro Manila.
