This Family Eats at Din Tai Fung

We’re really so happy that Din Tai Fung opened in BGC. We can’t get enough of it, to be honest. At first, I really thought it was quite overrated, but frequent visits changed that. Some of our “new” Din Tai Fung discoveries include 

1) Crispy Beef Strips. I like anything crispy so this was instantly a winner for me. I honestly can finish an entire plate. Yes. It is very similar to the Sweet and Sour chicken (which we also love! It’s like eating crispy chicken skin with a sweet and sour sauce!). 

2) Hot Prawn Salad.  Another of my weaknesses. But what I really like about Din Tai Fung’s is even for the small order, you get a load of shrimps! So it’s really well worth the P295.00 price tag. 

 3) Braised Beef Noodle soup. Ron loved how tender the beef was. 

 4) Fried Rice with salted fish. This how salted fish fried rice should be. You will really taste the salted fish but I don’t think it was overly salty at all. 

5) Sautéed green beans. Not a new one for us, but thought of adding it to this list nonetheless. I wonder what the secret is in maintaining the crunchiness of the string beans hmmmm. 

Other winning dishes would have to be any of their salted egg yolk dishes (sorry, no photos available): the salted egg yolk shrimp or squid and the Golden Lava Salted Egg bun. So, so, good. And of course, I can’t leave out the Xiao Long Bao‘s. Our favorite now is the one with garlic. Yum. What are your Din Tai Fung favorites?

    I still haven’t eaten at Din Tai Fung!! I see this and now feel like I’m missing out on a lot. Haha
