Off-the-menu Ramen

Seafood Ramen. Another off-the menu from Mendokoro Ramenba. It had generous servings of seafood and a really tasty, shrimp-y broth (excuse the lack of adjectives).  Loved it.  Is it just me, or are off-the-menu’s a new, hip thing now?

Hanamaruken

Hanamaruken.  It’s been around and JodiesDaddy has been reading his friends rave about their Signature Happiness Ramen.  So we tried it out ourselves. JodiesDaddy had the Signature Happiness Ramen (no photo).  He liked the broth.  It was light, not too rich and yet full of flavor.  He was overwhelmed by the pork rib that came…

Super Chashu!!

An off-the-menu ramen from Mendokoro Ramenba aptly called Super Chashu. The chashu was probably 3-4inches in diameter and half an inch thick!

JodiesDaddy and I capped off our week with a bowl of ramen made by the “Ramen Nazi” himself in a place that sparked our Ramen love — Ukkokei Ramen Ron.  We’ve been going to Ukkokei Ramen Ron for over 7 years now, and even after the Ramen boom some 2-3 years ago, it still remains to…

Mendokoro’s Shio

This was the first time I tried the Shio Ramen from Mendokoro Ramenba. Jodie and I fell in love with it 🙂 yes, we shared this bowl.

RAMENisicing: New offers at Ramen Nagi

There are new additions to the Ramen Nagi menu. Yay! This is what we’ve tried so far: Tsukumen – JodiesDaddy loves the Tsukumen.. Although we noticed that the serving size seemed smaller than the normal ramen. Karaage – Finally, Jodie now has something to eat! She ate this with noodles, because their chashu rice was…

RAMENisicng: Nomama Artisinal Ramen

Capitol Commons, Kapitolyo, Pasig After about 2 years of reading and getting recommendations for Nomama Artisinal Ramen, JodiesDaddy and I were finally able to dine in last Sunday. Luckily, they opened a branch in Capitol Commons in Pasig so we did not have to trek all the way to QC. We started out with a…

When In Japan…

…I made sure I ate: 1. A Bento Box (YAY!!) 2. RAMEN (this was a shoyu based ramen, and was super YUM!) 3. Assorted Tempura (hmmmm I’m pretty sure there are better ones than this from Tokyo Disney) 4. Gyoza (I loved the crispy burnt side hehe) 5. Chahan (this fried rice was sooooo good…

RAMENisicing: Ramen Yushoken

Molito Complex, Alabang Ramen Yushoken still ranks as one of my top 3 ramen places in Manila, and the best one South of Metro Manila. Their tantanmen is my favorite – with its rich, nutty/sesame broth, it’s oh so good! Plus, I really like how pretty their bowls of ramen are.

RAMENiscing: Ramen Kuroda

Aguirre St., BF Homes Parañaque It took a visit to JodiesDaddy’s best friend (and his family) in BF for us to find out that there exists another decent ramen place south of the metro: Ramen Kuroda. Jodie and I shared a Kuro Ramen + fried rice set menu.

The Black King

The Black King Ramen from Ramen Nagi is currently my favorite ramen.

RAMENiscing: Tampopo

Just when I thought I was done with RAMENiscing 2013, JodiesDaddy comes up with a bright idea to go all the way to the Promenade in Greenhills to try out yet another ramen place called Tampopo. Luckily, we were there early, on a long weekend, so there was not much of a crowd. Upon the…
