… Mushroom and cheese-filled puff pastries I just discovered the wonders of ready-to-use puff pastry.  Experimented and baked these with baby portabello, bacon, Emmenthal and mozzarella inside the puffy, flaky pastry. … Crispy Pork Binagoongan  A dish of Crispy Pork belly sauteed in a bed of shrimp paste, chilies and tomatoes.  I follow this recipe and…

It’s time for steak!

JodiesDaddy, hands down cooks one of the best steaks EVER!  Of course it helps that the meat was good too.  Check it out!

a Meatloaf

Jodie’s yaya, our cook leaving turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I’ve been “forced” to be resourceful in trying to recreate food I grew up with (i.e. served in our Lola’s house). This is one of them, a meatloaf. Google’s been a great help providing various recipes for me to follow. I…

Sweet Po-Tater Tots

This is what happens when I’m stuck at home watching cooking shows… I end up cooking I just saw on TV!  Recipe was from Dinner At Tiffani’s, and it was YUMMEH!

A family that cooks together, eats together

There are some days when we, JodiesFamily, are too lazy to brave traffic or move our lazy butts off our beds to eat something special, we decide to make the something special at home instead.  While in reality, these meals are only either Shabu-shabu, Japanese (sukiyaki, chahan) or Korean (Korean BBQ, bibimbap), Cheese Fondue or…

Our 30-minute meal

It was an impromptu home made dinner for JodiesDaddy and I. We were all set to eating out because we were bracing ourselves for heavy traffic due to the rally along Ayala Avenue. But to our surprise, traffic was not heavy at all and we got home even earlier than a normal weekday! Since we…

Impromptu fish tacos

We had fish fingers for dinner a few weeks back. While I love fish fingers (especially dipped in lemon butter sauce *drool*), JodiesDaddy doesn’t. To avoid cooking another dish for him, I thought why not make it into our own version of a fish tacos instead!?! So that’s what we did! Turned out really well!…

A week of Chap Chae

Guess what?!? I actually cooked last night hahaha I made us some Chap Chae (or Japchae). It wasn’t my own recipe though and I loosely based it from this recipe. It turned out pretty good. But I think I underestimated the amount of noodles. I cooked 500 grams when the recipe called for only 250…

Improvisation

I did it! I recreated the Thai Catfish Salad a few nights ago, and I must say, it was a success 🙂 Got my recipe from here.  However, instead of catfish, I used Tilapia.  And, I did not have crushed nuts.
